Our 4-Step Custom Ring Process

Step 1: Share Your Vision

Send over your inspiration photos and any details about the ring you're envisioning. We'll then schedule a virtual consultation to discuss your style, budget, timeline, and everything you're looking for in your custom engagement ring.

Together, we'll create a plan for a ring that's designed specifically for you.

Step 2: Find Your Perfect Diamond

With access to over 1 million certified lab diamonds, I'll personally hand-select 3–4 options based on your budget and preferences. Once you've chosen your favorite, your diamond is shipped to me before it's ever set, allowing me to send you photos and videos in different lighting so you can see exactly what you're getting.

Because choosing your forever diamond is a big decision, I can often source two options so you can compare them side by side before making your final choice.

Step 3: Design Your Ring

Once you've selected your diamond, we'll create a digital CAD rendering of your custom ring for your approval. You'll have the opportunity to review every detail and request any changes before giving your final approval.

Step 4: Bringing Your Ring to Life

After you approve your CAD design, your custom ring is handcrafted in the USA with precision and care. Production of the ring takes about 2-3 weeks. Once complete, it undergoes a final quality inspection before being securely packaged and shipped to you.

Financial Information

To begin your custom ring, a 50% deposit is required to source and order your diamond(s).

Once your diamond(s) arrive and you've had the opportunity to review the photos and videos, you can either:

• Pay the remaining balance before production begins, or
• Split the remaining balance into two equal payments—one when your diamond(s) arrive and the final payment when your ring is complete and ready to ship.

Important Policies

Jewelry Insurance

While Penn Diamonds does not offer a warranty, we highly recommend insuring your jewelry. Jewelry insurance can provide coverage for loss, theft, damage, and more (depending on your policy) and is often available through jewelry-specific insurance companies for as little as $50 per year. Because our custom rings are priced well below many traditional retailers, our clients are often able to save thousands upfront while still protecting their investment!

Ring Sizing

To help ensure the best fit, we recommend having your finger professionally sized before placing your order. Penn Diamonds does not offer ring resizing, but most local jewelers can resize a ring for a reasonable fee if needed.

Returns

We offer returns on custom rings within 7 days of delivery. A $200 non-refundable fee applies to all approved returns. Rings featuring custom engravings or other personalized details are final sale and are not eligible for return.
